1組目 スコットランドとオーストラリア出身の2人に聞いてみた!

Thank you very much for your help

Where are you from?

I’m from Scotland

Sydney Australia

Are you born and raised here?

Yea

And you came here…

A few weeks ago

A few weeks ago?

How old are you?

I’m 24

I’m 32

In this video today I’m asking people about

Work and money

What do you do for work?

I’m a music programmer

Music programmer? Really?

That sounds cool

What do you do for work?

I’m a general manager of childcare centers

Sometimes people say

They get stress from work

Or most of people say they get stress from work

Do you sometimes or did you

When you used to work in your country, did you used to feel stress sometimes from work?

Yea

How about you?

Sometimes

I think there’s a lot of pressure and a lot of tasks to do if you general manager, don’t you?

There is but it’s about ah

Just organizing yourself

Just organizing like

Using time efficiently

Work harder than smarter

Smarter than harder!

Smarter than harder

When you use to feel a bit of stress

What do you think is the main cause

What’s the main factor that’s causing stress?

Workload I guess

And people’s expectations like stuff expectations

You think expectation is too high sometimes?

Sometimes yeah

How about you?

I think in Scotland

It’s a lot of management causes you stress

The main reasons people feel stress from work in Japan, is apparently

Unreasonable working cultures

I feel like

I used to work in a real estate in Tokyo

Sometimes when your boss is still there

We feel like

I don’t know if we should go home

Before your bosses go home

Have you ever heard of it?

What do you think in this country or in your country?

Do you feel like this?

I know our employees don’t feel like that

It’s not really a good way to say but

You don’t really care if your boss is working or not?

As long as you finish your work…

We’re doing two different jobs

Two different jobs

So what the boss does is different from what I do

So if I finish what I’m doing

Then I can go home

That’s true

Do you agree?

I think it’s the same in Scotland

If you’re done, you go home and that’s it

And the second thing is being given toomany tasks so

Pretty much like what you said like

Expectation is sometimes a bit too high your feel

And an inquality at workplace so

Probably some people feel that

Some people don’t have much task and

I have too many tasks or something like that

Sometimes do you feel an unfair thing like this?

What would you do when you feel like this?

I don’t think I’ve ever felt like this

Never?

No, I don’t think so

I’ve seen it but…

I felt like that but obviously

The wage is different as well

So if someone’s dhoing more

Thye’re also getting paid more

So the stress would be more and the expectation’s more

Coz you get paid more

Do you guys live on your own?

No

With your family?

My family

I live with her family just now

SO I’ll ask you

It doesn’t have to be the current house

Just imagin when you think about Moving to an apartment or whatever on your own

How much do you think you can pay per week?

I know rent’s just ridiculous here so I can’t even…

I can’t even think

I think a really cheap…

Well cheap for me like I’ve been looking recently has been about $600 a week

$600 a week

$600 you can live a month in Tokyo

It’s the same in Scotland

Last question

When you say 40

When you say 30

How much saving do you wanna see in your bank account?

How much saving do you thi k you have to have?

To be comfortable

Thousands?

Thousands no

Probably like

Just under a hundred if you wanna be comfortable

Little bit less than a hundred thousand?

That’s okay for you?

That’s a lot of money

But if something happens and you lose your job

Everything else still continues

The reason why I asked you this question as a last is because apparently

According to a research from one of the biggest Japanese recruitment companies

The average amout of saving for Japanese 30s is about

40k to 50k

I think this is not much in this country

Obviously it depends on the price in the countries

So of course it differs

Difference economies

Thank you very much

No worries

2組目 スペインとブラジル出身の2人に聞いてみた!

Oki doki! Thank you for your help guys

Where are you guys from?

I’m from Spain

I’m from Brazil Sao paulo

Have you guys been here for a long time now?

Now 2 years for me

For me already 4 years

How old are you?

26

I’m 34

In this video today I’m asking people about your job experience and also about money

What do you do for work?

I’m working now in construction

Constraction is good money in this country I guess

More or less it’s good money

How about you?

I’m working with events

What sort of things do you do?

We have to do like when they got like a festival

We need to do the stage and mount all the structure and everything

So that’s your job in this country and

How about in your country? What did you used to do?

In my country I was working in a ski atation

I was a coach

That’s pretty cool

I snowboard though

I don’t ski

How about you?

I did advertising I was working in a big agency as an account manager

In Brazil Sao Paulo

Work is very stressful

What do you think? What sort of things cause the stress mainly from work?

The money

In Spain you can get money

You can live with the money easily

But it’s not enough to save money

In Spain generally?

The good life is expensive and then

If you wanna save money

You have to be quiet

You cannot get out every single weekend

Everyone is not Sergio Ramos yea?

No, not everyone is Sergio Ramos

How about in Brazil? What do you think cause the stress?

I think it’s pretty much the same

If you can get a good rate

As you can get here in Australian then

You can have like a goot money otherwise it’s pretty hard

To afford so many things

Sorry this is my image and

Also because I used to live with Brazilian people

They say there is always a struggle to work in Brazil

Because of the money as well and

Also they say if you don’t go to university

You have no chance in Brazil. Is that true?

That’s really true

If you never go to university

It’s really hard to get a job and

They need a very good and high qualified…

Skilled people?

Otherwise you’re gonna struggle to find a job

In your country Spain and Brazil and then you guys came to Australia abviously and

What do you think? What’s the main difference? In terms of working condition

One thing for me

In Spain you have to save money

Two weeks to buy a new pair of shose the one that you like

And here just one day. You can buy whatever shose you want

This is too better here man

I agree with him like

Here it’s like really easy money

As soon as you get a job, you can afford a lot of things and

Have a good quality life

So before I did a video

And in that video I asked ladies

How much do you expect your future husband to be earning

And they said a lot of money for me

But for Australian maybe not like

More than 100 thousand or

Some people said 200 thousand

I think the Australian average is like 80 to 90 thousand a year

But they said wife and husband combined income should be like

200 thousand or 250 thousand

That’s a lot of money but it makes sence as well. It’s expensive

But what do you think?

Many people in my comment said

Of course the price is different

Every country is different

But in my idea

Here is expensive right

Rent is expensive, food is expensive

Bondi even more

Bonde’s super expensive

But I think it’s really easy to save money

And enjoy life in this coutry. What do you think?

In Spain for example

You can be happy with 60 thousand euro per year

Very happy?

Yea so happy

Here you can get more money you know

It’s ecpensive

But you can save more

You can save way more

It depends on the life you want

I think life style is much better here like compare to Japan and

Maybe your country too. That’s why you’re here

Yeah it’s true

Do you have any kind of image or

Have you ever heard anything about Japanese working conditions?

What I heard is that Japan is very expensive

To have a good quality life is also expensive

And they afford a lot of things

For that reason I think

Probably they have a really good job and

To afford all these things

Not everyone but some people do

I think Japanese relatively to other countries

People work longer hours and much harder

What do you think? Working in your country is harder than here?

Of course

Way harder. You can’t compare

As a Spanish person

As a Brazilian person

When you get maybe 30 years old and

You are already 30 years old so I’d say like. When you get 40 years old

In your country generally

How much saving makes people happy in your bank account?

I will be happy with

$80 thousand

$80 thousand when you are 30

For me when I’m 40 hopefully it’s gonna be

$300 thousand

Is that a lot of money in Brazil you think?

Brazilian situation is really bad but…

But it’s possible right?

It’s possible of couese

How about Spain? $80 thousand, Do people save that much money when they are 30?

It’s quite high

Because $80 thousand is 40 to 45 thousand euros

It’s hard to get that. It’s not easy man

For me I’m 26

I will have 4 years

For me it’s possible to get $80 thousand here

And I will come back 40 thousand euro I can start to…

Maybe thinking about having a house there

That makes a big difference yea?

Thank you very much for your answers

3組目 オーストラリア、メルボルン出身の2人に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

I’m from Melbourne Australia

Is that okay to ask your age?

Definitely, I’m 23

In this video today I’m asking people about your work and money

What do you do for work?

I’m a retail assistant so I’m working as a liquor

In any country I think it’s same

People feel stress from work

I feel stress from work

Do you feel stress from work?

There is time when definitely it gets stressful. Work is definitely stressful

I think it’s just depending on how you are as a person

I’m generally like a positive happy guy so

I can see your hair style

Positive and very happy

Generally I don’t get stressful but like ..There is time like

What causes stress?

Overworking and all that

Do you have to work overtime sometimes?

Like a lot of times

A lot of times? Really?

So how many hours do you think you work a week?

With my workplace I’m a contractor like I’m used to like 33

You don’t work like full time yea?

Not full time like that

But sometimes you could get like 40 to 44 hours

Over 40 hours

I know it’s like normal for some people but

Technically 38 hours is the Australian full time right

So you work overtime

You know in Japanese many people feel

And also I used to feel that

Sometimes there is an unreasonable working culture and it’s still there

Even you finish work

You kind of can’t go home because your boss is still there

You know what I mean? You kinda feel awkward

Have you ever felt something like that?

I have at my previous jobs

What did you do?

Just like all retail

I was in a fashion industry

Like higher comapanies I’d say like UNIQLO and all that

They are like strict as hell

You’ve heard UNIQLO. UNIQLO’s a Japanese company

You’ve heard it’s very strict

Man, I heard like Japanese companies are more like

Stricter standards

I heard that a lot

Sometimes workplace has a party right?

Do you sometimes or have you ever felt that

You kind of got invited by your bosses or managers to go to drink after work

You’re kind of like “I have to go”

Have you ever felt it?

Definitely

So awkward

You feel awkward to drink with them and also

You feel awkward to say no?

Yeah it’s awkward to say no

In Australia it’s same

You do feel awkward but once you had a drink or two obviously

You are free to go yea

But generally I think over here it’s not as awkward

It’s not as awkward to yes to go out coz

Everybody has like a friendly environment in work

Yeah I agree with that

It’s very friendly in Australia

Coz I’ve heard of Japan like

It’s not like that mate

The workplaces are more like

How do you say? Bows?

More respectful in that way

Because you know in Australia you can talk naturally normally to anyone like

5 years older than you or whatever

You don’t have to be like “Ha! Sir! Thank you” or whatever

But in Japan you gotta change your way to speak

The formal way

And I guess that creates the big wall in front of you

Between you and your manager or whoever

That’s right I’ve heard of that

Uncomfortable as f**k

I’ve heard of that

I heard it’s like that for Japan and Korea

I guess so

I’m not too sure but I reckon

So you are… you said 23

Let’s get when you get 30 I’m 30 years old

What!?

Do I look like 30 years old?

I thought you’re at my age

Thank you very much

I’m very happy today

When you get 30 years old let’s say

As an Australian person

How muuch do you wanna see your saving in your bank account?

I gotta start off with a hundred thousand

A hundred thousand?

That’s the ideal goal

It’s realistic right?

It can be realistic

That’s a lot of money actually

In Japan apparently it’s like I think

40 to 50 coz

People think that Japan is an expensive country

Of course the price is different

Each country has a different range of price but

Genarally I guess people think that

Japan is an expensive country

But it’s not easy to save money there

What’s the pay rate there like?

I think the average is like 60 thousand a year when you are 30 years old

Which is not really high if you compare to Australia

I think it’s like 80 thousand or something like that

A hundred thousand that’s a lot of money but

You need it right?

Just to start thinking about the future
