Just like sushi

or like some fast food Japanese restaurant but

But not super popular maybe not like Australia

But I as a Japanese love Japanese food Fantastic

I love German food too I’ve been to Germany before but

My favorite cuisine is Japanese

However, we have many dishes that’s normal for us that’s nothing wrong with us

But could be very yucky to non-Japanese people

I have six picture, please have a look at them together

And let me know if it’s eatable for you

The first one is gonna be this

This is beef tongue

Second one, this is stewed beef intestine, guts

I think there are something a bit like this in Germany

I haven’t eat it though I just know that exists but

But you haven’t eaten

Do you know this? Sea urchin

No

I have them in my backpack

Joking

Fish roe Fresh fish eggs

I think there is like caviar in Germany

But I don’t like it

But people eat yeah?

Some people do

This is signature of Japanese food called nattou

Fermanted soybeand

So it’s actually rotten, but it’s pretty nice and healthy

I think that’s not like the tongue or something so it’s ok

As long as it’s sort of vegetable, as long as it’s not meat

The last one is what’s this

Raw meat?

It’s a horse sashimi

I don’t think horse tastes that much different than other meat

You’re very calm opinion yeah?

But you’re like OMG, no way

I have a horse so

I’m really sorry, forget about it

Which one is the hardest one for you do you think?

I think the first one

This one beef tongue?

It’s the hardest one you cannot try?

I think the texture also

Not horse?

Horse also

Last question, do you have any food from Germany

That could be a little bit tricky to non-German people?

Well, I cannot think of anything

Too good aye?

I also think there’s nothing that’s very disgusting or something

But some very special traditional things like

I don’t know if you know Brezel

What is it? Is is like a bread or?

Yes, it’s some kind of

Yeah, I’ve seen it I think

Like round

Yeah, this one

I’m not a big fan actually

But it’s not too bad though

Thank you very much! That was interesting!

She need to try another things

She needs to try a bit more yeah?

You take her to restaurant yeah?

Alright, for me coz I’m Japanese, Japanese food is amazing, the best in the world

Probably for you the Brazilian food is the best in the world but

Some dishes are really good in Japan

But I feel like some dished from Japan could be a little but yucky, disgusting to foreigners

I have some pictures, please have a look at them and tell me if you can try or not

First one, what’s this

Looks like a meat

This is a beef tongue

Is it a tongue?

Can you try?

I don’t think so

Second one, this one is a beef intestine, guts

Really? No no

So Brazilian people don’t eat this kind of thing?

I don’t think so

I like your reaction aye

No chance?

What’s this? This is a sea urchin

So this is sea food

You’ve never seen it before

No

What about this? This is a fresh eggs, fish roe

Oh really? Looks like chicken, this part

Do people eat fish roe in your country?

No, I don’t think so

What’s this? Looks slimy

It’s like a signature of Japanese food called nattou

It’s fermented, it’s gone bad, but we eat like this

Oh, it’s gone bad when you eat it?

That’s why it’s like this

No no no

Last one

This one looks good

Looks like normal beef

This is horse sashimi

Horse?

Can you?

I think so

Really?

Like kangaroo, people eat kangaroos here right?

I’ve never try it

But I think that maybe I’ll try, not raw like this

Ok, but nobody cook, we eat like this

There’ll be a problem

Let’s say which one is the hardest one for you to try

I think this one and this one

Beef intestine or sea urchin

What do you think?

I think that this one coz it’s not good

It’s fermented, it’s very healthy actually

Oh, really?

Interesting, coz I thought everyone’s gonna point out the horse sashimi

Coz if you talk about this with western people

They are like oh the horse is like a majestic animal

And I can’t believe that you guys eat horse but actually ok

Yeah, like in India they have cows for like god

So they don’t probably never eat cows

So it depends on the place

Last question, do you have any food from Brazil that can be a little bit tricky maybe Japanese people to try?

Actually, my mom she likes tongue from the bull

Oh bull, is it good?

It’s gross it’s like entire piece

I’ll google it definitely

Thank you very much yeah

3組目 オーストラリア出身の女性に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

Australia

What do you usually eat for a lunch?

Honestly sushi

Most of the time, there’s heaps of good sushi places around here

Take away sushi

For me it’s like Australia sushi it’s completely different from a Japanese sushi

Not authentic most of the time

But I love them though, that’s the thing

Well, actually I’m making a video about Japanese food

So I have some questions about that and please gove me your answer

First of all, have you ever been to Japan?

No, I have not I would love to

What makes you interested in that?

I love Japanese food, I love Japanese culture, everything about it

Well, talking about Japanese food I gotta ask you

What’s your favorite Japanese food apart from sushi?

I love takoyaki

You got one, takoyaki

I’m glad that you said takoyaki

Coz most of people are like apart from sushi, not sure

Takoyaki, love it

The main thing of this video is gonna be

I believe some dishes some Japanese food

Can be a little bit tricky for foreigner

So I have pictures, and I want you to have a look at them

And tell me which one is eatable for you and like impossible for you

So the first one is gonna be, what’s this

This is beef tongue

I’m trying to think coz I’m vegetarian

Well I’m pescatarian, I eat fish

But when I ate meat I really like beef, so I think I would have when I was eating meat

What is thie then?

No, I don’t

This is stewed beef intestine, guts

I get a little bit wired with guts, so I probably wouldn’t

You know this?

Sea urchin? I would

Fresh fish roe, we eat with a rice and stuff

Raw fish? I love raw fish

Do you know this? Nattou, fermented soy beans

We eat this with rice

I don’t really like soy that much

So I probably wouldn’t just coz I don’t like soy

What about this?

This is horse sashimi

No, I love horses

I’m sorry for that

So which one is the hardest one for you to try?

It’ll be the horse, absolutely

Is it gonna be a little but offensive to Australian people to talk about having horse?

I mean I’ll probably say that it’ll probably be upsetting to most of Australians

So the last question is gonna be like this

Do you have any special food from Australia that could be a little bit tricky non-Australian people?

Kangaroo

I think a lot of people can’t understand that we eat one if our national animals

That’s true though

I had it, first it taste like a beef but then you got

The Kangaroo smell and like, I don’t like this

No, smells not great

Apparently, it’s healthy

It’s very good for you, it’s a lean meat

Thank you very much yeah! Interesting!

4組目 メキシコ出身の男性に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

Born in Mexico, but I’ve been living in Vancouver for the past ten or eleven years

So you lived in Mexico as well?

Yeah I was there for eleven years as well

So it’s kind of like half and half

What are you up to?

I’m just in a working holiday visa

Just here to travel and to get an experience of Australia life

I’ve heard there are heaps of Japanese people in Vancouver as well

Do you notice that?

Yeah, there are a lot

I actually used to work in a Japanese restaurant

Really? Are you chef?

No, just a server

You can speak English so you serving customers with English

In this video, this is vert random but I’m interviewing non-Japanese people here in Sydney about Japanese food

So I have some questions about that and please give me your answer

First of all, you worked at a Japanese restaurant in Vancouver

And have you ever been to Japan?

I have not I’ve been meaning to go probably within the next couple of years

As I made a lot of friends working at the restaurant

That they actually go live in Japan

And most of them have moved back coz they were just there for like again one to two years

It’s pretty hard to get permanent residence in Japan as well

So many Japanese fans in the world but it’s pretty difficult

What makes you wanna go over there?

The life style that you guys have, it’s very unique and clean

To me, like the cleanliness is so astonishing to me

Japanese food is amazing

And it’s one of the biggest cuisine in the world I assume

However, I feel like there are some food that is nothing wrong with us but could be a little bit challenging

And bit yucky to foreigner

I have six pictures, I want you to have a look at them

And please tell me if it’s eatable for you

So the first one is beef tongue

Have you ever heard beef tongue?

I’ve heard it in tacos

Did you like it?

I love it

So it’s definitely eatable

What do you think this is No.2

This is stewed beef intestine, guts

What do you think?

I would try it, but it’ll definitely be out of comfort zone

I’ve seen this

Sea urchin

I would try it

Fish roe

We can eat it with like white rice and stuff

Yeah, I don’t know

You know this one?

Is it beans?

It’s a fermented soy beans, it’s called nattou

I would try that, that looks good

What’s this?

It’s just raw meat?

This is raw horse sashimi have you ever heard of it?

No

I’m gonna ask you, which one is the hardest one for you?

The last one we saw

The horse sashimi, and a beef intestine

In your country, not many people eat the inside like intestine

Not much

Alright, so the last question is, we have some dishes like this

Do you have any dishes that could be a little bit challenging to foreigners in your country?

I’d say it’s called sopa de chicharron

So it’s like a pig skin and they just take one like the hairs they kind of boil just skin

And then they throw it in soup with like, cilantro, tomato

Is it good?

I enjoy it some of my friends in Vancouver

Whenever we go to Mexico restaurant, they don’t like it

It sounds like it’s got taste nothing does it have a taste?

It does coz they’re kind of fermented in the soup

So it kind of just sits there for a little bit, that’s good

I’ll definitely google it

Can you try it? Please write down in a comment

Thank you very much yeah!

5組目 トルコ出身の2人組に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

Turkey

In this video, I’ve been asking people here in Sydney about Japanese food

I have some questions about it, please give me your answer

FIrst of all, have you ever been to Japan?

No

Have you ever thought about it?

Yes, I’d like to see one day

What makes you get interested in it?

I want to see the Japanese culture, and also the food maybe

For me I’d like to see the jacarandas

The cherry blossoms you talking about, it’s very popular

Which season was that?

It’s like spring, April

Underneath cherry blossoms, we drink

That’s our culture

The main thing of this video is gonna be like this

I love Japanese food, and Japanese food is quite big in the world

However, some dishes could be very tricky for non-Japanese people

I’d say yucky, a little bit like disgusting

Let’s have a look at these nominated six dishes together

And tell me if it’s eatable for you or not

First one is this this is beef tongue can you eat it?

Yeah, we have but I don’t like it

I don’t like too

How about this? This is stewed beef intestine, guts inside the stomach

We have as well

But we put it in a bread, and put some salt pepper, chili

That sounds very yummy

Better than this way

Are you sure?

What’s this? Sea urchin

No

I’ve never tried

You cannot see it in Turkey

Fresh fish roe, eggs from fish

No no

This is impossible

It looks like finger

This is signature of Japanese food, called nattou

Fermanted soy beand

It’s eatable

If it’s not animal, maybe you can try anything

What’s this?

Slice of beef steak?

Slice of horce

Do you eat horse in your country?

No

Straight away no

So, which one is the hardest one to try?

Maybe the egg one for me

This one for sure

This one? Sea urchin, impossible?

Impossible

So the last question is that we have some dishes like this

Do you have some dishes in Turkey that could be a little bit challenging to non-Turkish people

Sould be the manti

There is a meat inside of that dough

You put some yogurt and some spices

It’s maybe disgusting for others

Does it have a really strong smell or?

No, but it’s really strange for the other people

We put yogurt on the top and we out everything

It’s like a bread and inside there is meat

Not bread, dough

Let’s google it together

That looks delicious, but it’s actually a little bit tricky, is it?

It’s so tricky

If anyone tried already, please write down in a comment

It looks delicious, but it’s tricky yeah?

The other one maybe the kokoretsi

Oh, so you use the guts to make this

Inside of bread

I mean I’m Japanese, and we eat the guts

So it’s understandable but I think for majority of people in the world could be tricky

I want to try now!

Thank you very much yeah!
