So in this video I’ve been asking people question about COVID-19

It’s been a long time since it started and

Each country has a different attitude to it now and

A different approach to it now

Some countries try to live with it completely like the UK

And Australia like of

And also Japan and some countries

Still trying to make the case low or non

So two questions just simply I wanna ask

Are you the person who believes that we should live with it like the UK or

Are you the person who still think that we should minimize the case number?

Trying to minimize completely or eliminate it like China

You cannot eliminate this

You can’t eliminate virus

So you have to learn to live with them

Coz they are constantly changing

The main question of this video is gonna be like this

In Japan same as Australia

We don’t really have to wear a mask

There’s no rules or anything like that

But people wear a mask

Maybe they respect other people or

Maybe they wanna protect themselves or

Maybe they care about social pressure

The eyes from other people

In Japan if you are seventy seven years old Definitely people will be wearing a mask

But today on judgement

I’m not wearing a mask You are not wearing a mask

But simply why are you not wearing a mask?

It’s a good question I think

You’ve given overall reasons why Japanese people do wear a mask and

I think that’s a confusing issue

You gotta look at the basic problem

The basic problem is that

If you have virus out there for instance

If I wasn’t vaccinated at seventy seven old

I got this disease I would be dead

But I’m triple-vaxxed

I have to be as a healthcare worker

So I’m seeing patients everyday

People sneeze on me They do all these things while I’m working on them

And if I’m not vaccinated

I could be a carrier and pass it on to somebody else

But while so I’m vaccinated

I’m getting the virus under control pretty well and

So as everybody else

We have a very high vaccination rate in Australia

And we have a strong tradition vaccination in this country

It goes back to Second World War

When there were vaccines made available to the public for things like Polio and

Other things like influenza and

As a child we would all be vaccinated

There was our parents who was advised by the health department, by the doctors

And there’s a strong belief in that we can put out for Put out faith at the doctor and science

To deliver what we think we need

We trust our doctors than politicians

So as a professional you really believe that

No, I know that

It’s not a matter of belief

It’s a matter of knowing the science

You know the fact

So I know what works and what dosen’t work

So I think there’s nothing wrong with wearing a mask all the time but

It gets a bit suffocating

Coz I live under a mask all day long when I’m working

So I need to take it off sometimes

Definitely

You wanna live freely

And I think there’s nothing wrong with it

But I think you’ve also gotta look at space

I mean I’v been to Japan

And the space is very confined

And if you are all walking around Looking each other very closely

Maybe you should wear a mask

Whereas Australia has more space

Well there’s a bit more space

We still live in big cities too but

Having been in Tokyo and Kyoto and these places

I know how little space you guys have

So that’s not an unreasonable thing for you to do

The density is a little bit different

Having been in China as well

Walking shoulder to shoulder with two hundred million people

It’s a bit scary, isn’t it?

So maybe I would wear a mask there as well

It’s been a long time since COVID-19 started

And I believe that each country has a different attitude to it

Or some countries decided to live with it completely

So I have two questions ready for you

Are you guys the person who believes that we should always try to make the case non

Or are you the person who believes we should live with it?

I think that we should just live with it

Why do you think so?

Well you got other virus out there like Just normal flu

People die from that too you know

There’s other things that we gotta be aware of as well so

What do you think about it?

It’s just all a bit crazy to be honest

Like I think it has been blown up a lot

No judgement I’m not wearing a mask You are not wearing a mask

It’s not even illegal here anymore

In Japan it’s the same

In my country in Japan people legally don’t have to wear a mask

But people still wear a mask

Because they want a security and also maybe they care about what other people think

Simply, why are you not wearing a mask today?

I feel like

I wanna breath a normal air you know like

I missed the normal air so

When something is so restricted you can’t breath and it’s just very hard so

It’s not comfortable, hey

Now without the law like wearing a mask It’s so much better you know

So you are happy with the new law that

I’m all for it like going on a transport or something like that

Where it’s inclosed a bit and I feel safer with a mask on

That’s my personal opinion

So we just do what guide us to do as well

Better at freedome

You want a freedom more like than like just…

Being forced to

Being out around in like outside I feel like why we have to wear a mask, silly

I think many people in Japan feel the same

But if you are not wearing a mask

Back in Japan maybe people will look at you

What if people tell you You should be wearing a mask or something?

They should mind their own business kinda thing

I feel like it would be more optional person like

I mean more like if

If person wants to wear a mask, you wear the mask

But if you don’t wanna wear the mask

You gotta expect what they think about not wearing a mask

Each their own

The safety is important but

You should also respect each person’s opinion

I think like we should try and learn to live with it

But also still be cautious of it

you can’t just stop life because of COVID

You just have to learn how to live with it and move on I think it’s a right thing so

For me like I prefer the fresh air you know like

For me I just prefer not wearing a mask

They can put it put it out there and just say to you like If you really wanna wear a mask It’s your choice but

I feel like if they force you to wear a mask and like

That’s where problems get started coz

People are disagreed with it

So the people that wanna wear the mask They can wear their mask but

For the people that don’t People just have to live with that
