1組目 アメリカ出身の2人組女性に聞いてみた!

What country are you guys from?

The United States

I’m also from the United States

From United States

Big city or …?

Small town

Countryside

Yeah

And you?

I’m from outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Too many states

I can’t remember where they are

But anyway, what do you do in Australia?

So, I’m studying abroad in New Zealand

I’m just here visiting

She’s my roommate back home at our home university

And other friend that’s here as well

All right

So, you live in New Zealand now? At the moment

At the moment

Okay being a tourist in Sydney?

Yes First day here

First day here okay

What do you do?

I am also a student

I’m studying down in Melbourne

And I’m up here

Just got here today, this morning

Oh, welocome

Yeah, just to see Sydney for the first time

Oh, I see

How’s the life in Melbourne?

Are you enjoying it?

I am, yeah

The nightlife, like you said, was really good

And if you’re a city person

It’s really nice to be there

So much diversity and different cultures there

So, it’s really nice

Absolutely

Well, I live in Sydney, and I love Sydney

But I think city wise, Melbourne is better

So yeah Just giving a tip for people who are willing to do a working holiday or whatever

In this video

I’m interviewing people about a country where they possibly want to migrate

I think it’s one of the hot topic in Japan

So let me ask you some questions about it

But my first question is going to be about

Your country, the US

What is the best thing I know there are heaps

But what is the best thing about America?

Something that you have but the other countries don’t?

I think this is something that a lot of countries do have

But I think America has a lot more

We have so many different cultures that migrate to our country

So it really is a big melting pot

And you get to experience a lot of different cultures

Depending on what part of the United States you go to

So, you really can experience so many different things in so many different parts of the United States

Because it is so large

All right

Even if it’s in the same country

Like, if you go south, maybe you get Latino cultures there

And you go to New York, you got everything there

Each part has something else, something different

Diversity is beautiful because I think

Because I think, sorry, let me talk a little bit

I want to talk now

Because I am from Japan, right?

And Japan is very homogenous country

I don’t know if it’s the right term, but, like

Japanese people there

So we don’t have diversity much

So, there’s really strong common sense

And if you’re out of this common sense

You’re like minority, you’re like outsider

What are you doing? Sort of thing

But when there is diversity

You can’t be weird person

Because there’s too many normal

So, I think diversity is good

What is the best thing about America?

Going off of that diversity

I think that the US, also has a very diverse climate and terrain

Meaning that not only are they diverse in culture

But it’s very diverse in the types of places you want to visit things you want to see

We have the beaches and the mountains

If you like the snow, we have that too

I think that that’s really fun and

It makes it similar to what she said

A lot of people come to the US

Because they can experience a lot of things all at once

And I love that the US has different seasons

So you’re not always bored of what’s going on

Yeah, right

And Sest Coast

Well, what California?

California’s girls are…

What is it? California girls are…

Yeah! “Unforgettable!”

And the Rocky Mountains, lakes, everything

Okay On the other hand

Every country has something negative

What do you not like about America then?

Well, I think it’s a hot topic right now

But I think we have a big problem with g*n violence

100%

And that’s something that a lot of other countries don’t have

And something we definitely need to work on

Do you think it has it been changed in this decade?

I feel like the trends are just continuing and getting worse

Oh, really?

And with the amount of things, you see in the news

Even being over here for the past few months

It’s disappointing to open up the news articles

And hear about more like fatal sh**things

I think that it’s kind of a good and a bad

The people from the US are very proud of their country

So we have a very patriotic

And we love where we’re from

But that kind of puts us at a disadvantage

With out cultural knowledge of the rest of the world

So, I think a lot of times Americans are closed minded

And they don’t know that much

We are unfortunately not big on languages

So most people who are born in the US can’t speak

Another language other than English

And it’s like you go to Europe

And everybody can speak at least three different languages

And I just feel like that people from the US

Kind of don’t know where different countries are

And what it’s like to be outside of their little bubble

So, I definitely wish that people from the US were

More culturally in tune and

They wanted to explore outside of our country as well

Sorry about my language

But what the f**k!

You guys are deep

You’re so smart, you have so much opinions

And I think it’s really hard to get that sort of answer

If I do the street interviews in Japan

I mean, Japanese people are smart too

But you guys have your opinion

And that’s beautiful, attractive for me

Okay, so the last question

It’s very random question again

But if someone force you to be in a situation

Where you kind of have to choose one country to migrate today

What country are you going to choose?

I would go to Mexico

I would go smack in the middle around Mexico City

Because I have family there

And I’ve gotten to experience just how the culture of Mexicans are

And how welcoming they are to anyone that visits

And just how you’re going to be treated like family

Even if you’re not family to the people around you

And there’s a lot of stigmas around living in Mexico and the dangers and the people there

But when you actually go and experience it firsthand

Everything it just stripped away of what you think before

It’s not too bad Yeah, it’s actually goog

Okay, I see

I would want to go to Italy

Because Italian food is one of my favorite foods

Popular choice, too, but I have never been there

So it’s definitely on my bucket list to visit

And I actually currently live down in Melbourne with a bunch of Italian people

They all live in my apartment building

Do you speak like that?

They do speak like that

And they all have, like, very Italian names

But they’re so fun to be around

And I think I would really enjoy it there

You get positive energy from them

Sorry, one more question

What about the Japan as a migration destination?

Do you think it’s going to be good or

Do you have any concerns

If you have to go to Japan?

I actually might go visit Japan this summer

Because my cousin just went and moved there

I think Japan has such culture in itself

And I think it’s different from anywhere that I’ve been before

So, I think if I had to go and live there

I think I would be nervous

To be stripped away of everything that I think is normal

Just because I think a lot of customs are different in just everyday life

But I think it would be a really neat experience to go and see

How it is firsthand, rather than, again having assumptions that I think because of what I see on the news or what I learn in school or anything like that

Okay, interesting

But that could be true, though

Yeah

I would love to go to Japan

I actually want to one day do, like, a trip around Asia

My mum is originally from Vietnam

So she migrated to the US when she was younger

So, I definitely want to hit all of the Southeast Asian countries including Japan

Just to experience their culture

Because I know that it’s so different from Western culture

And I also do very much enjoy Japanese food

Seems like you really love food, then

Okay all right

Thank you very much

That was really good

Thank you very much for your help

2組目 ムンバイ出身の男性に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

I’m from India Mumbai

Mumbai Big city, yeah?

Heaps of people in Mumbai

It’s the financial capital of India

Financial Capital of India

Okay so, it’s a big city

And what do you do in Sydney?

I’m currently working at a law firm

At a law firm? Oh really?

Yeah A smart person from Mumbai, then

Oki doki. All right

So today in this video

I interview people about a country where they possibly want to move, immigrate

Because I think it’s one of the hot topics that people talk about in my country, Japan

So let me ask you some questions about it

But my first question is going to be about

Your country, India Okay

So, what do you think is the best thing about India?

What is the thing that you have but the other countries don’t have?

I think the answer would that to be is

The cultural diversity

Cultural diversity

Speaking of diversity in this country

There are diversity from everywhere, like lots of countries, right?

Absolutely

How about India?

We as a nation, we have a lot of history, I guess

So, there’s a lot od cultural diversity in India, like that

So even inside a country, it depends where you’re from it’s really different, is it?

Really different

There are more than 50 languages spoken throughout India

Inside one country?

One country more than 50

Really?

So, sometimes if you go to countryside

You don’t understand what they’re speaking?

The main language is Hindi, though

But yeah, they do have their own cultural languages

So we don’t understand what they are trying to say

Oh, really?

It’s interesting because Japan has Japanese, right?

And we have a dialect

But we don’t have another language

So at least we can understand everyone

But it’s interesting to heat that even inside a country even though you’re the same people

You don’t understand what they’re speaking

So then, on the other hand

Any country has a negative part as well, right?

Yeah, absolutely

What do you not like about the country?

What do you think is negative thing of India?

Negative thing about India would be

The population and the illiteracy

Population and electricity?

What do you mean?

Illiteracy Illiteracy

The ratio between literate people and non-literate people

That’s a lot

There is a big gap

That’s a big gao

I don’t want to be rude

But because I’m making educational content

I’m just really curious

In the history class in Japan, we learn about the caste

You have a class

And now we hear in the documentaries and news that

It’s kind of like a vanishing kind of like a fading away

But do you think it’s still there?

Absolutely it’s always going to be there

It’s a part of is

You can’t remove that from us

But yeah, you can be above it

The last question is going to be like this

If you got into a situation where you have to migrate to another country today

What country are you going to choose? If you have options

I’d probably say Japan

Serious?

Why do you think so?

It has one of the strongest passports in the world

I love Japanese people, I love anime

You can see

Dragon Ball Z Okay

With an Indian passport sometimes

Can it be like a tricky to go countries for holiday and study?

It’s not difficult to get a visa for a different country, though

But it is a long procedure

Long procedure?

There’s a lot of waiting

And you might need more documents

More documents? I would say yes and no Both

Sometimes…

Yeah, sometimes it depends

Like, what country you’re traveling to

But it takes a long procedure

It does take a long time

I see Okay

We need to appreciate the fact

We have a Japanese passport

Okay Thank you very much

Thank you
