1組目 メルボルン出身の女性に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

Melbourne

What do you do?

I work in transport logistics

I literally though you are like are super model or something

Are you not a model?

No

Today in this video I’ve been asking people about languages

By the way do you speak any other languages?

No, I wish

Just English?

Yeah

Before I interviewed people about my appearance

So I made people guess where I am from

And it’s obviously difficult to guess

Which Asian country I’m from for Western people I guess

So today I wanna ask you about Asian languages

I have Korean Chinese and Japanese in my phone

And first I want you to have a look And guess which one is which

And then secondly you listen and guess what it is

What is this?

I would say that’s Korean

And this one?

That’s Japanese

And how about this?

Chinese

So is it easy? It was all correct

Was it?

Oh awesome

Was it easy for you?

I just guessed

I knew Japanese actually

Coz I did that in primary school

You chose to learn Japanese in school?

Yeah

So last one Please listen to this and guess what this is

First one

[Korean]

Second one

[Japanese]

Third one

[Chinese]

I would go first’s been Chinese Second Japanese Third Korean?

I could see that you studied Japanese

Coz Japanese’s correct

But the first one was Korean And third one was Chinese

So it’s a little bit difficult but You learnt Japanese so you know about Japan yeah?

Have you been there before?

No I haven’t I really want to though

Thank you very much for your help

2組目 トルコ出身の男性に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

I’m from Turkey

I reckon this is my first time to film with a Turkish person

Exciting

What do you do?

I am a mechanical engineer

Are you taking a lunch break or something now?

Yes, I’m on my lunch break at the moment Just walking

I work from home

Right

Having a lunch break being able to walk around nice beaches and stuff

That’s a good lifestyle, init?

Yes, it is really good

I recommend everyone

Come to Melbourne yeah

Melbourne’s a nice place

Today I’ve been asking people about languages

Do you speak any other languages other than English and Turkish?

Yes, I do speak Spanish but just a little bit because

I studied in Portugal like six months

But it was like twelve years ago so

You lost most of it yeah?

Yeah, most of it Ninety percent is gone already

You got nice hair by the way

I thought you are like a Brazilian or something coz of your hair

Thank you so much

They are my babies

They are like sixteen years old now

You loving it yeah?

Yes, I love it

It’s hot but it’s okay

So before I one of my videos

I asked people to guess where I am from

Because obviously I think for Turkish people

To guess where I am from is very difficult

They might be like “Chinese, Korean or Japanese?” Or

Even like Indonesian or something like that

It’s difficult

But today I wanna ask you about languages

So I have Chinese, Japanese, Korean languages in my phone

And first I want you to have a look at it and guess what it is

And secondly I want you to listen to it and guess what it is

What’s this one?

Korean

What about this?

Japanese

How about this?

Chinese

Was it easy?

I don’t know I think so

It’s all correct

Is it?

Surprising

It’s surprising for me too

You just literally guessed it

Yeah, I was just talking

Listen to this

First one

[Korean]

Chinese I would like to say

How about second one?

[Japanese]

Japanese

[Chinese]

I have to say Korean for this one

I didn’t understand anything but

Alright so these are pretty much saying

My name is Tarosac by the way

There are pretty much saying that “Tarosac channel is interesting” something like that

But it’s funny

Japanese it’s correct

The second one is Japanese

But the first one was Korean and the third one was Chinese

Mandarin

And it’s interesting because I asked an Australian lady before

She made the same mistake

So maybe it is difficult for you to guess Korean or Chinese, hey

Yes possibly

I’m not like very familiar because

In here I don’t interact a lot with like a multicultural environment

Only like English I’m using or like with my families

So I’m not heavily under effect of like various languages

I was just making that I was like “I think it should be that”

Just guessing literally

Like any knowledge at the background

That’s fine

I know that it’s difficult

In Japan we hear that Turkish people are very friendly to Japanese people

We have kind of like a friendship sort of thing? Is it true?

Okay so in literature classes in Turkey When you are in primary school

We know that our language Japanese and Turkish come from the same root

Really?

We know that but like

It is called in Turkish “Ural-Altaic”

Ural-Altaic language group we call this

And Japanese is one of them

We came from the same root That’s what they taught us

Well I didn’t know that

Thank you for teaching me that

No worries

It’s just what I know

I’m hoping you can finish up your work today

I hope so too I’m waiting for it

Thank you mate

3組目 オーストラリア出身の2人組に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

I’m form here Melbourne

Yeah and I’m from Melbourne as well

You guys are Australian yeah?

Today in this video I’ve been asking people about languages

Do you speak any other languages?

I speak a little bit of Italian

A little bit Italian

So I’m half Italian half Australian

Alright

No, I don’t speak any other languages

Yeah, no problem That’s fine

Before in one of my videos I asked people where I am from

Because I assumed that it can be very difficult for non-Japanese people

I’m Japanese

Non-Japanese people to guess where I am from

But today I wanna ask you guys about languages

One, I want you guys to have a look first

And then guess which one’ Korean, Chinese, Japanese

And second one, I want you guys to listen to it

And guess what it is

Alright let’s see if you can guess correct

How about this one?

What is this?

Chinese

Korean?

How about this?

Japanese

How about this one?

Chinese

I mean I already said Chinese

Korean

It’s very interesting

People guess correctly Japanese

They know number two is Japanese

But they kind of mix up

And you guys too

Korean and Chinese

Was it difficult?

I think it was easy for you, hey?

Yeah

Was it tricky? You couldn’t tell?

I kind of could tell When I saw the third one I was like

Oh I now got it wrong That’s Chinese

So how about the sound?

Number one

[Korean]

Alright number two

[Japanese]

Number three

[Chinese]

Tarosac’s channel is very interesting

I would say

First one is Chinese Second one Japanese Third one Korean

I think the first one is Chinese

I think second one is Korean. And I think the third one is Japanese?

All wrong

The first one was Korean

And the second one was Japanese

And the third one was Chinese

So it’s very difficult yeah?

I recognized Japanese

How did you recognize?

It’s just the way in which they talk like

With Japanese it tends to be a bit more fluid speaking

It’s a bit faster

Whereas it’s like I was seeing Korean and Chinese like

They are both kind of more enunciated

They are kind of both more a bit slower A bit more enunciated

Japanese is kind oof like almost like fluid in its speaking

It’s very flat, isn’t it?

Yeah

Alright interesting

Thank you for your cooperation yeah

4組目 モーリシャス出身の男性に聞いてみた!

What is it?

Le Creole

Le Creole

Difficult mate

And you speak French as well?

Yeah I speak French as well

So in this video I’ve been asking people about languages

First I want you to have a look and guess which one’s which

Are you confident?

Japanese I can pick it up

Korean no

And what’s that one?

Chinese? Mandarin?

Mandarin yes coz I learnt Mandarin in Mauritius like

Because when we were little they taught us Mandarin and Hindi

I always say it’s hard or easy but

I just always keep learning

Yeah that’s a good thing mate

How about sounds? they might be difficult yeah?

Sound might be harder but let’s do it

I listen to the music Japanese trap

You like Japanese trap?

First one

[Korean]

That’s Korean

How about this?

[Japanese]

Japanese

[Chinese]
