1組目 アルゼンチン出身の男性に聞いてみた!

Thank you very much for your help

Where are you from?

Argentina

Have you been in Australia for a long time now?

More than three years

What do you do for work?

I am a tattoo artist

Tattoo artist!? Really?

That’s cool!

Would you mind my asking how old you are?

I am 34

In this video I wanna find out

How much foreign people actually know about their own country

First of all, what do you like about your country Argentina?

I think the culture

If you move to live here

You’ll miss your country or something like

Maybe you make one joke

For an Australian, one from another country also your country [people]

Maybe you won’t understand

I think South American people have a strong family connection, don’t they?

It’s the same with friends

Your friend is your family

What sort of culture do you like?

Maybe Argentinian barbecue

With friends and family?

Everyday there is no rush

“What are you doing?”

“Nothing. I’ll come to your house.”

Here it’s more difficult

You like about being more relaxed and

Spending time with friends and family slowly

Cool!

What do you dislike about your country then?

Corruption

This is the thing

Because I feel like

Not everyone but if you compare to people overseas

Japanese people are not really interested in politics

Especially young people and then

We don’t really talk about corruption

When I talk to foreign people since I came to Australia

[Some] people start talking about corruption

They are not happy about their politics

And they know about their politics

Which is a great thing I think

Sometimes here it’s the same

Maybe young people don’t talk about corruption

Don’t talk about politics

Because problems never happen

People are a part of this

People trust in the politics

When the politics is…

Fakeing?

Yeah

When I saw this

I can’t believe

This country doesn’t have a solution

I have to move

For this reason a lot of Latin people

Looking for their future in another country

What do you like about your country people then?

Argentinian people love pertying

It’s more relaxing

There’s more connection

In Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile

When you meet people you kiss

Here it sometimes happens

“Hello, how are you?” and then

…..

Oh sorry…

Also I lived in Rio de Janeiro

In Rio de Janeiro it’s two kisses you know

Ma and ma

Imagine here it’s difficult

So you like your people being very close to each other

What do you dislike then?

Sometimes they say “I like you”

“Come to my house. Blah blah blah” and…

It’s not true

They don’t like you

It’s too much like

Fake love or something like that

I know what you mean

Thank you very much

It was very interesting!

2組目 リトアニア出身の女性に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

Lituania

Is that okay if I ask how old you are?

I’m 34

34!?

You don’t look like 34

I thought you are like 25 or something

There you go

What sort of job do you do?

I’m in real estate

Are you in real estate?

OMG

I used to work as a real estate [Agent] in Tokyo actually

What a coincident

In this video today I’m asking foreign people

If you guys know much about

Your own country and your own people

What do you like about your country?

I love that we have a lot of history and

A lot of traditions in my country

Like your own culture?

That’s correct

Do you think it’s very different from other European countries and

Also Australia?

I think in other European countries, they have a lot of histories

They do have a lot of traditions as well and

Australia is kind of behind than that

Okay I see

Coz Australia is mixed up with everyone I think

It’s quite reasonably new country right so

If you have to say something you dislike about your country

What is it going to be?

That’s such a tough question

I do like many things about my own country

Probably it’s the fact that it’s so far away from Australia

So far away from Australia

How about working conditions or like

Politics and…

I mean I’ve been here for a long time so

I haven’t worked myself as an adult in Lituania

But I hear from my friends who are still there that

Working conditions are reasonably great so

I’m not sure

Maybe party scene could be a little bit better

But that’s about it

Alright

What do you like about your own people?

They are very warm

They are very welcoming

So what do you dislike about your own people?

They can be quite shy

A little bit reserved

In Australia you talk to everyone

It’s not like Australia?

If you don’t know someone, you don’t talk to the person?

I guess it depends on their personality

Depends on how you grew up

As I said people can be reserved

Thank you very much for your help

3組目 チリ出身の2人に聞いてみた!

Where are you guys from?

Chile

What’s the capital city of Chile?

Santiago

Santiago!

Are you guys from Santiago?

No

Is that okay if I ask how old you guys are?

I’m 28

33

33? You don’t look like 33

You don’t look 28 too

You guys look like…I don’t know

18 or 19

What sort of job do you guys do?

Early childhood teacher

I’m a care giver

I work with elderly people

First of all I wanna ask you guys

What do you like about your country?

We came from a city where it’s popular for the best beaches

I could say what I love the most

Is the beach

And that’s one of the reasons why we decided to come and live in Bondi Beach

You know Chile is long and narrow

We have a desert in north and this

Is a flower desert which is super rare and wonderful

I’ve never seen that before

Coz deserts are usually like this you know

So it’s wonderful

Then kind in the middle you got the beaches and all that

And south is pure vegetation and nature

And in very south we also have glaciers

So we got everything

You can go and it’s wonderful nature and everything

What do you dislike about your country then?

I think its politic culture is very bad

We have very had people managing our country so

The poor are poorer and

The rich are richer in our country so

The middle class is trying to survive it’s really really cad

So if you have a poor background

It’s very hard to be very successful?

Right?

University is the only path

That’s what made us really

If you don’t go to university, you are not gonna be anyone

But then you go to a uni

But then you are in debt trying to pay for uni so

It’s just constant

Because Japan is mainly medium class there

Majority of the people are medium class

And of course rich people

We don’r have many down side much

If you compare to many countries

I’m not from a rich background

I don’t know. Mum I’m not…

But even you’re from countryside or whatever

If you are great you have a chance to be super successful

But I think in some countries

If you have this kind of background, it’s very hard to be that

It is

They force you to study otherwise you don’t…

Otherwise no chance?

No! We can live but you will be poor and it’s not good

No university No chance

No chance

How about people?

What do you like about Chilean people?

Everything I think

We are so happy

We love partying, we love dancing

We gather and we take care so

South American people

Happiness

Easy life Easy going

In contrast, what do you dislike about people?

Being clean for example

Not tossing papers around

Be respectful to your own country

I think that’s something that we don’t have

We have street dogs for example and people don’r care. They just live on the street

They don’t care what happens to you

I just wanna be okay have fun

But if you are bad I just like…

I like your Armani Exchange sunglass

Looking nice and your sunglass too

Thank you very much

Have a great day

4組目 バングラデシュ出身の男性に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

I’m from Bangladesh

In this video today I wanna find out

How many foreign people know about their own country

First question is

What do you like about your country?

I must say that I like the people

They’re extremely hard working

And also they don’t complain

They’re probably the most deprived people in entire planet

They probaby have tha hardest life

But they don’t complain and always have a smile on their face

That’s what I like about my land

In terms of the hard life, what made you think that people have a hard life in your country

Imagine

Carrying 100 of bricks on your head

Going up and down on 10 stories building

At the end of the day earning like $20

It’s not enough to pay for rent

And food

If you have a kid, how can you send your kid to school?

The kid must be working as well so

It’s just an example

So majority of people are sacrificing their time and

Spending so much time and so much effort to build their life

And they sustain their family

In contrast, what do you dislike about your country?

The fact that we never stand up for each other

I don’t like much the word nationality or the

National pride thing but you know

If your country men are being criticized

The least you can do is to stand up

And defend that person

Instead of joining on the whole thing

That’s what my people do

They look looking down on each other

Alright

That’s just something that I hate

What about country?

For the government?

You know the government is corrupt

So this is a problem?

Yeah

Thank you very much for your cooperation

I appreciate it

5組目 オーストラリア出身の女性に聞いてみた!

Where are you from?

Australia

Would you mind my asking how old you are?

23

What do you like about your country Australia?

I like the beaches and the mountains

It’s just so free

You can be whoever you want

You can dress up whatever you want

What do you dislike about Australia?

Probably just rubbish at some places

What do you like about Australian people/

Australian people are really friendly

If you walk pass and they say hello especially the locals

If you are new to the area

They show you around if you ask questions

They have friendly places

If you have to say something you dislike about Australian

What is it gonna be?

Difficult question?

I can’t think of anything right now

So I think you are pretty happy

To be an Australian person and to live in this country

I am very lucky and I am very happy as well

Thank you very much for your cooperation
