I have visited India, Nepal some of these countries

I don’t know much about the culture around there

But when you go to like India or Nepal Even Australia

India is not much because our subcontinent cultures are almost the same

So yeah in Australia and in Nepal everything

Everything was culture shock for me

For example when you go eat to a restaurant

We don’t usually say thank you as much as Australia say

I feel that’s really good

It’s not us being impolite it’s just

We don’t say it

I’ve experienced a lot of cultures that shocked me since I came here

And also I’ve been to many countries like Europe in Asia, stuff like that

Not really

You have to first pay for the products and then you eat

People wear no mask even when you are sick

No, we don’t wear a mask

People don’t use umbrella when it’s raining

We use umbrella we use raincoat

You know in Western country people kiss on the street people kiss in a restaurant

No

Basically because firstly it’s not in pur culture

You can’t show the public affection

Is it illigal?

No, it’s not illegal

Against moral?

Moral and religious reasons

Because Bangladesh is mostly Muslim populated country

So we are not usually very comfortable showing the public affection

So that’s a culture yeah

Do you guys FaceTime in public transport in your country?

We do talk but we don’t do a video calling

But you can talk still?

We can talk and people talk loud

In our culture we take it as it is

It’s very comfortable

Then now I’m gonna talk about some cultures that we tend to have in Japan

When you are eating ramen, you sip

We do

In your country can you sleep in public transport like trains or buses?

Well, you can it’s very often

When I was in Bangladesh I used to do that a lot

Because a lot of traffic jam and lots of traffic in the road so

How you pass your time you listen to music and you sleep

In Japan when you talk to someone if the person is older than you

You kinda have to be polite

Do you have that sort of culture?

Definitely! It’s very dominant in our culture so

You call them differently

For example in “You” “You” means everyone in Australia in English culture

But in us you have three different versions

So for elderly people one

For your people one

Your friends one

It’s our morality

From child we’ve been told that you have to respect elder people

What we do in our culture we address them in a different way

So the feel like respected

So how about if he was three years older thank you

No, probably I wouldn’t have ice cream with him at this point

We just talked about that actually

We don’t really do that

I’m from a very small town in Denmark

There you say like you kind of say hi when you go for a run and pass someone but

But like if you can tell people are from another country then it’s like then we can talk to you

When you are feeling sick, do you wear a mask?

Before we went to Japan I’d never seen a person with a mask on the street

That was pre COVID so that was five years ago

I had never seen a person with a mask like in a public transport or in the street

So you don’t really have a culture that you wear a mask?

People don’t use umbrella even if it’s raining

Western people just tend to get wet

They don’t use umbrella

We do but most of us wear like a raincoat

We usually bike everywhere

And it rains so much so

But it was fun in Japan you have all these like little umbrella holders when you go into places

Coz everyone use umbrellas there

Japanese things that we see in Japan

No, children do that

Coz it’s a very Japanese thing I think

In Japan we try to be polite when a person you are talking to it older than you

Just older than you then you have to be polite to the person

No at all if I have to be honest

You can be polite to everyone it dosen’t like

It’s not about age

Japanese girls tend to say “You got skinnier”

Not many people say “You got fatter” but

“Hey, you became skinner” or something like that

Maybe it’s the first time you see the person in a week or something

Can you say something like that related to body shape?

I think you can say it but it’s like turning around a little bit right now

I mean we used to say like a lot like in the ninety’s, zero I think

But in twenty twenty two you don’t really say that

I think it’s kind of rude to comment on people’s weight like that

We judge each other a lot but we are quite accepting towards foreigners

Never never! It’s so rude

Don’t do that in Argentina definitely

You try to be polite when a person you are talking to is older than you

But when I was quite young
