Udon and ramen. You guys are more Japanese than I am, then I had a pasta today. I’m more like a Leichhardt person.

It’s very random, but today I’ve been asking people question about social media. By the way do you guys say social network service? Or social media?

Social media.

Social media, but you understand social networks service as well?

Yeah I guess.

Do you guys use the social media?

Yes

I don’t use like the main one. I guess most people have Instagram, I have Snapchat but I don’t have Instagram.

Okay, so do you use Instagram?

Yeah

Alright, so you use Snapchat and you use the Instagram the most. You know sometimes, we get positive energy from social or social media.

And sometimes you get like negative by seeing your friends or someone posting something right?

What sort of contents tend to make you feel positive and negative? I feel positive about seeing people’s post features like holiday usually, because I like holiday you know, they go to overseas and stuff like that.

But I don’t like watching people posting. Like I went there and the breakfast and I did this that. Lunch, dinner like who cares you know.

It’s like a needy, I can feel that like this person is very needy. Don’t judge me please, don’t say anything wrong, anything bad to me please. But something like that.

Yeah, um positive probably when they post family or friends.

Oh right, family or friends.

Yeah, negative when they’re trying to brag I guess.

What do you mean?

Show off.

How about you?

Yeah, I think it’s kind of that idea, where I feel like comparing yourself to something. You might feel worse about yourself, if like you’re seeing like they’re having more fun than you. Or they’ve gone somewhere and you can’t go like that kind of a thing, just jealousy I suppose.

Alright, interesting. Last question, when you see males Instagram or Snapchat or anything. What sort of contents do you think can be attractive and what sort of contents men shouldn’t post?

I don’t know.

Selfies look kind of dumb.

Selfies looks kind of dumb? Gym selfies?

It’s just like their face or something.

Oh you feel like this person is a very narcissist.

Yeah, if it’s too many of you and like there’s like none of your friends. And you kind of look like you’re obsessed with yourself and you’re not a super social person.

What do you think it looks attractive?

Probably just a mixture of everything.

Mixtures of everything, like life not showing off too much?

We have this beautiful good-looking gentleman here. Where are you from?

I’m from Sydney.

Sydney Australia. Okay what have you been up to today?

Uh, second day of freedom for us because we just came out of a lockdown.

So we went and had ramen.

Ramen, where did you have a ramen?

Uh, just up the road at the Gallery. there’s a restaurant called Ichibanboshi.

Oh yeah, I got there sometimes.

What’s your favourite taste of ramen? Flavor?

Like you know Shoyu ramen, Miso whatever you know.

I had uh, what did i have today?

Shio.

Shio ramen is very sensitive you know. They need a skill to make a good one.

Yes, it’s definitely good.

I’m a ramen lover too. Today I’ve been asking people a question about social media. You know Instagram, is it social media or social network services?

Social media.

Social media, social network services may be like a Japanese term then. Do you say social network service?

Oh, you can say both. But like the more casual term for just normal conversation, would be social media.

Social media. Okay do you use Instagram or whatever the social media?

Yeah, okay you know sometimes social media gives you a positive energy. And sometimes you get like a negative energy. By seeing your friends posting something.

I think, I’m pretty sure that happens sometimes. It’s not a massive but you know it happens. Generally speaking, not like celebrity or anything but your friends or like a people close to you. What sort of contents make you feel positive and what sort of contents you don’t really want to see? Negative like impact.

Um, positive content I mean. I like to see people being happy.

People being happy, yeah.

Just doing general positive things, I guess going out and enjoying you know Sydney. Or wherever they are. Things I don’t necessarily like to see is just I feel like social media is used as a platform to show off.

Or show things that are necessarily not true.

Yeah true.

Yes, look better or make things appear better. And for me, I don’t really like seeing those, so I don’t usually keep people on there, that do. That too much, so I try to just keep the good ones.

You want to see the real life. Not the exaggerated or just for social media, sort of thing.

That is true. Okay one more question, you have a beautiful girlfriend there today. But generally speaking when you are single, think about it. You know, obviously you see girls on Instagram or whatever what sort of contents you think tend to look attractive and what sort of contents are like ah girls don’t post this kind of thing because it doesn’t look good.

Oh, so what do I like what girls post?

Can you get me in trouble.

What do you think it’s attractive?

Difficult question?

Yeah, I mean again I’m not overly fussed with. I know a lot of girls here especially in Sydney, were surrounded by beaches. like to post you know. Them on the beach and stuff.

That’s not necessarily. What I’ve been to, I just like normal photos. I guess girls with smiles and that’s it. That’s usually what attracts me.

Don’t have to show off too much tits and stuff.

That’s negative right?

Yeah, I mean no for me. It’s not negative, you do whatever you want. Show it off but for me personally you know, that’s not what I’m looking at it you know.

A little bit different, try not to get in trouble.

Pressure from her girlfriend, I can see the aura and she’s happy.
